Title:
A METHOD FOR SPREADING A PASTY MIXTURE IN A UNIFORMLY THICK LAYER OF VARIABLE THICKNESS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO1982000080
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Method of spreading a pasty mixture in a uniformly thick layer (6) of variable thickness on the upper web (1') of an endless belt (1). By means of this belt the spread pasty mixture is conveyed through an oven for baking. According to the invention the upper web (1') of the belt is heated in a zone located in front of the oven and extending right across the belt. In at least part of the said zone the upper face of the belt web is brought into contact with the pasty mixture (5). The invention also relates to an arrangement for carrying out the said method. The arrangement comprises a device for spreading the pasty mixture on the upper web (1') of the endless belt and a device for driving the belt (1) so that the pasty mixture can be conveyed by it through the oven for baking. According to the invention, the arrangement also comprises a heat source (4) located under the upper web (1') of the belt (1) and designed to heat the belt web (1') in a zone located in front of the oven and extending right across the belt (1). The upper web (1') of the belt (1) is inclined upwards in the transportation direction. The device for spreading the pasty mixture comprises a rear end wall (8) which is orientated right across the belt (1), and two sides (9) disposed along the edges of the belt which adjoin the upper face of the belt web (1') leaktightly so that, together with the end wall (8) and the sides (9), the belt web forms a container (7) having the belt (1) as its base, this container (7) being filled with the pasty mixture up to a variable level.
