Abstract:
A method of stain-proofing a polyamide fiber comprising applying compounds of general formulae I and II to a polyamide fiber, in formula (I), R groups each independently represent -OX, (a), (b), or (c), X groups each independently represent hydrogen or an alkali metal, and l is a number of 3 to 20, provided that 50 to 70 % of the R groups are (c) and the rest are at least one member selected from among -OX, (a) and (b); in formula (II) A represents (d) or (e) wherein X groups each independenly represent hydrogen or an alkali metal, m is an integer of from 2 to 6, and n is 0, 1 or 2. The stains caused by natural and artificial coloring agents are effectively prevented.
