Abstract:
This method 1 for substituting inert gas includes: a closing step S1 of accommodating a honeycomb molded body in an indoor space 7a of a gas substituting chamber 3a and closing the same with airtightness from the outside being maintained; a pressure reducing step S2 of reducing the pressure in the indoor space 7a to a preset first vacuum pressure; a pressure increasing step S3 of introducing argon gas 10 into the pressure-reduced indoor space 7a and increasing the pressure in the indoor space 7a to a second vacuum pressure which has a vacuum pressure that is higher than the first vacuum pressure and a vacuum pressure that is lower than atmospheric pressure; a pressure re-reducing step S4 of reducing the pressure in the pressure-increased indoor space 7a to the first vacuum pressure again; and a pressure recovering step of repeating the pressure increasing step S3 and the pressure re-reducing step S4 at least twice, introducing argon gas 10 into the indoor space 7a in which the pressure has been reduced to the first vacuum pressure again, and recovering the pressure in the indoor space 7a to atmospheric pressure.
