Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for efficiently producing 1,2-benzisoxazole-3-methanesulfonic acid wherein 1,2-benzisoxazole-3-acetic acid in toluene is reacted with chlorosulfonic acid, which may optionally be mixed with an inert solvent, in the presence of a specific Lewis base (ester or nitrile).
