Abstract:
The present invention relates to the synthesis of 2,2'-dihydroxy-1,1'-binaphthyl-3-carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof by reacting 2-hydroxynaphthalene or a derivative thereof and 3-hydroxy-2-naphthalene carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof with a copper-amine complex.
