Abstract:
Provided is a method for preparing a catalyst for carbon nanotubes. The catalyst is used for preparing carbon nanotubes by means of the decomposition of an olefin gas. By means of a two-step complexing method in a citric acid (CA) solution and a solution of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) in ammonia water, and carbonization, calcination, grinding and sieving, a highly active metal oxide catalyst for synthesizing carbon nanotubes is prepared. The catalyst features ease of preparation, good stability, proper structure, and high catalytic activity, and has successfully produced high-performance carbon nanotubes in tests with a carbon nanotube yield of the 169-246 g/g per unit weight of catalyst metal element. Therefore, the present invention has good economic benefits.
