Abstract:
A method of desulfurizing thiophene and benzothiophene from fuel oil through
phenol-formaldehyde reaction, which comprises the following steps: preadsorbing
aldehyde and catalyst in the porous adsorber as desulfurizer; contacting fuel
oil and desulfurizer completely at 50-70°C; reacting thiophene and benzothiophene
from fuel oil with aldehyde in the desulfurizer under catalyst; and converting
thiophene and benzothiophene from fuel oil into resin that can be adsorbed in
the desulfurizer. A system of desulfurizing thiophene and benzothiophene from
fuel oil comprises reactor and filtration system. The filtration system can
be settled in or out of the reactor.
