Abstract:
A take-up device (1) mounts thereto a vibration pickup sensor (2) which captures vibration information generated from the take-up device, and the vibration information is fed to a center station (5) through LAN 4 or the like to be stored therein. A host computer (8) outputs a thread changeover command when a length of thread in the course of being wound about the take-up device amounts to a predetermined amount of winding, and in accordance with the command the center station (5) stores the above value of vibration from the vibration pickup sensor (2) in a memory unit (6) in a predetermined form a predetermined period of time after a revolving condition of a take-up spindle on the take-up device (1) becomes stable. The take-up device is constructed such that the stored take-up information is suitably outputted to a printer (7), a display unit (10) and the like. A method of taking up thread which provides a maintenance system which enables identification of the present condition of the take-up device in operation, enables readily detection of an abnormality or abnormalities generated during operation of a spindle in a short time and easily provides decision data with respect to a location or locations where an abnormality or abnormalities are generated, in the event of an abnormality or abnormalities being generated, in a short time; and a take-up device therefor are obtained.
