Abstract:
Disclosed are a method for treating a mixture of laterite nickel ore leached slag and jarosite slag and an application thereof, the method comprising the following steps: granulating and drying jarosite slag, performing primary roasting, then adding a reducing agent, and performing secondary roasting so as to obtain a pellet containing a metal element; and performing water quenching on the pellet containing a metal element, and performing ball milling and magnetic separation on same to obtain iron, nickel and silicon-magnesium slag slurry. In the method in the present invention, jarosite slag produced by leaching laterite nickel ore by using sulfuric acid at atmospheric pressure and iron removal by a yellow sodium jarosite method is fully utilized, the characteristic of jarosite slag being easily decomposed under high temperatures is utilized, and Fe2O3 formed after decomposition is reduced by using pulverized coal; and then iron and nickel valuable metals are recovered by using water quenching, ball milling and magnetic separation processes, jarosite slag is decomposed by using high temperatures into stable silicon-magnesium slag, thereby achieving environmentally friendly treatment of jarosite slag and solving the disposal problem of tailings from leaching low-grade laterite nickel ore by using sulfuric acid at atmospheric pressure and yellow sodium jarosite slag produced by iron removal.
