Abstract:
Disclosed are a method for updating SSD upon fall-back from a long term evolution (LTE) network to a circuit switch (CS) domain, and a communication system, the method comprising: when detecting that a user equipment (UE) initiates a voice call service for a CS domain in an LTE network, an interworking solution (IWS) first updates shared secret data (SSD) of the UE within a preset time; after upgrading the SSD of the UE, the IWS initiates a switching process for a media switch center (MSC) to switch the UE to a target base station of the CS domain. The solution of the present invention can first complete the SSD update of the UE, and then complete the switching process of the calling process after the UE falls back to the CS domain (i.e., CDMA 2000 network), thus avoiding the conflict resulting from the simultaneous SSD upgrade process and switching process when the UE falls back from the LTE network to the CS domain.
