Abstract:
An apparatus (20) such as a television signal receiver provides an emergency alert function and an auxiliary information display function. According to an exemplary embodiment, the apparatus (20) includes a tuner (22) operative to tune signals including emergency alert signals associated with the emergency alert function. A processor (26) is operative to enable a disabled user setting for the auxiliary information display function responsive to the emergency alert signals.
