Abstract:
The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. The present disclosure provides methods for handling a measurement gap in a wireless network (1000) by a network apparatus (200). The method includes receiving a message from a UE (100). The message includes at least one of a UE capability information indicating a capability of supporting a preconfigured gap and a concurrent gap together, a capability of supporting NCSG and a concurrent gap together, a capability of a supporting NCSG and a non-NCSG measurement gap together, whether the UE (100) is capable of supporting a preconfigured NCSG, and whether the UE (100) is capable of supporting the concurrent gap, the preconfigured gap, and the preconfigured NCSG together. Based on the received message, the method includes performing an action.
