Abstract:
A method for controlling the level 2 congestion in a wireless network is disclosed, including the following steps: the current network node monitors its congestion status, when the congestion occurs, it sends the congestion control information including the congestion status to the upstream or the neighboring network nodes connecting with its own link; the network nodes receiving the congestion control information adjusts the local transmission rate according to the congestion status in the informaiton. A network node for monitoring its own congestion status and a system for controlling the level 2 congestion are also disclosed. The whole process of monitoring the congestion, sending the message and controlling the congestion can be clear, and be directly applied to the practical network, such as multi-hop wireless network, including: wireless mesh network, mobile Ad hoc network and wireless sensor network, thereby reducing the local congestion.
