Title:
MICROFLUID DEVICE AND DIELECTROPHORETIC DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/199889
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a microfluid device and a dielectrophoretic device suitable for accurately separating large quantities of particles. [Solution] A microfluid device (10) is provided with an insulative transparent film (12), spacers (18), a first electrode, a second electrode, and a grounding electrode. The transparent film (12) is wrapped around a conducting shaft (11), i.e., a central shaft, and has a spiral shape in a cross-section perpendicular to the central shaft. As a result of the spacers (18) being provided between a prescribed layer and a layer outside thereof of the transparent film (12), a space is provided between the prescribed layer and the layer outside thereof of the transparent film (12). The space provided by the spacers (18) forms a flow path (2) that has a spiral shape in a cross-section perpendicular to the central shaft and extends along the central shaft. The first electrode, the second electrode, and the grounding electrode are formed on the transparent film (12) and electrophoresis occurs in a fluid flowing through the flow path (2) due to a high-frequency voltage being impressed on these electrodes.
