Abstract:
A speed sensor aligning the normal direction of a one-patch antenna arranged on a mounting substrate and the optical axis of a dielectric lens uses a frame for tilting a sensor module, in order to obtain a progress direction component (cosθ) when installed on a horizontal/vertical surface of an automobile or train carriage. When concentrating a beam by using the one-patch antenna and a bullet-shaped dielectric lens, the dielectric lens is tilted and the lens bottom surface section is cut at a surface parallel to the antenna mounting substrate surface. The one-patch antenna comprises one patch and a GND electrode. The gain center for the radiation characteristics is in the normal direction of the antenna substrate however the radiation characteristics become substantially hemispherical wave-shaped.
