[Problem] To provide a mirror device that displays a video effect in accordance with a user action. [Solution] The mirror device contains a half-silvered mirror (11), an LCD (12), a sensor (13), which outputs a detection signal in accordance with a user action facing the half-silvered mirror (11), and a controller (100), which controls the display by the LCD (12) in accordance with the detection signal, and the mirror device is characterized in that the controller (100) calculates, on the basis of the output signal of the sensor (13), the position on the display surface of the LCD (12) corresponding to the position at which the user has performed an action, detects the user action on the basis of the output signal of the sensor (13), and when the user action has been detected, controls the LCD (12) in a manner so as to cause the display of a predetermined video pattern at the calculated position on the display surface.
