Abstract:
A misregistration check pattern is printed without vertical scanning by using groups of nozzles. The check pattern comprises a 'check rear pattern' and a 'check front pattern' which are mutually shifted in the direction of the vertical scanning. The 'check rear pattern' is printed by a rear group of nozzles, and the 'check front pattern' is printed by a front group of nozzles. A correction value is determined according to correction information selected from a misregistration check pattern and representing a preferable corrected state. Thereafter the error of the recording position in the horizontal scanning direction in bidirectional printing is corrected according to the correction value.
