Abstract:
Provided is a mobile information terminal that is able to obstruct operation by a third party without obstructing the operation of a legitimate user when shaking or tilting occurs. The present invention is provided with: a grip characteristic sample acquisition unit that acquires a grip characteristic sample; an acceleration sensor that measures acceleration; a switching unit that switches the mobile information terminal to either a learning or an authentication state; a template learning unit that learns a user authentication template; a tilt counter that, when the acceleration exceeds a predetermined value, adds tilt points, and when the user authentication results are the user, considers the tilt points to be zero; a user authentication unit that performs user authentication; a point addition/subtraction unit that adds/subtracts points in the case that the user authentication results performed by the user authentication unit are not the user; a threshold slider that determines a corrected threshold; a lock determination unit that determines that user authentication has failed if the points change across the corrected threshold; and a locking unit that locks a portion or all of the functionality of the mobile information terminal if user authentication has failed.
