Abstract:
Provided is a mobile robot and a driving method thereof. A method for a mobile robot to move alongside a user, according to the present disclosure, may comprise operations of: capturing the surroundings of the mobile robot; detecting the user from the captured image; tracking a location of the user in the image as the user moves; predicting a moving direction of the user on basis of the last location of the user in the image when tracking of the user's location has stopped according to a preset criterion; and determining a driving path of the mobile robot on basis of the predicted moving direction of the user.
