Abstract:
Provided is a mobile terminal device, wherein manipulation patterns that are diverse and easy to handle for the users are registered, and functions corresponding to the manipulation patterns are started-up corresponding to the input of the manipulation patterns. The mobile terminal device is provided with a touch screen, wherein one segment area among multiple segment areas is adjacent to other different segment areas that are different for each of at least three directions; a pattern storage unit that has one of the functions thereof stored in correspondence to a registered pattern consisting of multiple adjacent segment areas, among the segment areas that the touch screen has; a pattern recognition unit that recognizes multiple segment areas the user made consecutive contact with as an input pattern; and a function start-up unit that starts-up, when the recognized input pattern coincides with a stored registered-pattern upon comparison, a function that was made to correspond to the registered pattern.
