The present invention is applied to a mobile terminal having two casings connected to each other such that the two casings can be closed to and opened from each other. A mobile terminal according to the invention comprises: two display units that are provided to the respective ones of two casings; an executing unit that executes applications in the respective two casings; a detecting unit that is provided in one casing to detect data indicating the attitude of the one casing; a corrected value acquiring unit that reports, at a predetermined timing, a message prompting to make the other casing horizontal and that corrects the detected value of the executing unit, which is obtained at a time when a notification to the effect that the other casing has been made horizontal is received, to a detected value obtained when it is assumed that the one casing has been made horizontal, thereby acquiring the corrected value at that time; and a correcting unit that, after the acquisition of the corrected value, uses the corrected value to correct the detected value of the detecting unit and reports the detected value as corrected to an application executed in the other casing.
