Abstract:
Conventional mobile terminals with personal authentication capabilities, and keyless entry systems and security systems using such a conventional mobile terminal, have suffered from many problems related to user convenience, etc., including the fact that it is necessary to perform a predetermined biometric authentication operation immediately before performing each security removal operation. In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the mobile terminal according to the present invention, which is equipped with a personal authentication device, is provided with a retention detection unit which detects whether a user is holding the mobile terminal in a hand, and is also provided with a function to, after the user has performed an authentication operation using the personal authentication device, retain the authentication result from the authentication operation if and while the retention detection device detects that the user is still holding the mobile terminal in a hand.
