Abstract:
The present invention discloses a mobile terminal for reducing the consumption of a battery in a wireless terminal due to a misuse of a wireless communication unit, and enabling a user to conveniently connect the wireless terminal to an external device by controlling the state of the wireless communication unit on the basis of a usage pattern of a user in regards to the wireless communication unit on the mobile terminal, and a method for controlling the operation of the mobile terminal. To this end, the mobile terminal according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a wireless communication unit; a storage unit for storing a usage pattern of the wireless communication unit; and a control unit for changing the wireless communication unit to an active or an inactive state on the basis of the usage pattern or for providing an interface that can change same, wherein the usage pattern is characterized by being changed on the basis of time or location information.
