Abstract:
Provided in the embodiments of the present invention are a mobility management method, apparatus, and system, relating to the field of communications, and able to ensure service continuity between a user device and a correspondent terminal. The specific solution is: a user device establishes a first sub-stream and a third sub-stream; when the user device switches from a first base station to a second base station, the user device uses the third sub-stream to communicate with a correspondent terminal by means of the first base station, and revokes the first sub-stream; when a second network gateway is not the same network gateway as a first network gateway, the user device acquires a second IP address and establishes a second sub-stream with the correspondent terminal; the user device revokes the second sub-stream; and the user device receives downlink data whilst in an idle state. The present invention is used for mobility management in a wireless network.
