Abstract:
This mode converter is provided with: a substrate comprising a single member, and having a first main surface, a second main surface opposite the first main surface, and micro holes, with a desired depth, formed on the first main surface; ground conductor layers formed on the first main surface and the second main surface; a planar circuit that is formed on the first main surface, and that is capable of propagating high-frequency signals; and pins that are formed so as to cover the inner surfaces of the micro holes, and that are electrically connected to the planar circuit. This production method for the mode converter involves a step for forming a first reforming part, from one of the main surfaces of the substrate to a desired depth, by irradiating the substrate with laser light, for forming the micro holes by removing the reforming part, and for forming the pins by introducing a conductive substance into the micro holes.
