Abstract:
It is possible to suppress distortion of output of a mixer. A modulator (1) includes
a local signal source (10) for generating an in-phase local signal, a multiplier
(12) for multiplying an in-phase baseband signal (I) by the in-phase local signal,
a phase reverser (142) for reversing the phase upon reception of the in-phase
local signal from the local signal source (10), a reverse-phase multiplier (144)
for multiplying a reverse-phase band signal-I (equivalent to a signal obtained
by reversing the phase of the in-phase base band signal I) by an output of the phase
reverser (142) (reverse-phase local signal), and an adder (16) for adding the
output of the multiplier (12) and the output of the reverse multiplier (144).
A leak component (carrier leak) obtained by leak of the in-phase local signal
from the multiplier (12) becomes 0 when the signal obtained by leak of the output
of the phase reverser (142) from the reverse-phase multiplier (144) is added
by the adder (16). That is, the leak component outputted from the multiplier
(12) is cancelled.
