Abstract:

In this mold for continuous casting in which different material filling parts are formed, a significant increase in the number of times of using the mold as compared to the conventional ones is achieved. A mold 1 for continuous steel casting according to the present invention is provided with: a copper alloy mold plate 21 which has a front surface serving as a mold inner wall surface and has a back surface formed therein a cooling water passage 31; and a back-up plate 23 that is attached to the mold plate so as to cover the cooling water passage, wherein different material filling parts 22 filled with a different kind of material having thermal conductivity different from that of the mold plate are formed in recesses formed in a region which includes at least a meniscus in the surface of the mold plate, and water flow disturbing parts 32 that disturb water flow and that increases the surface area of the cooing water passage are formed in the cooling water passage, on the backside of the mold pate, corresponding to the region where the different material filling parts are formed.
