Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of developing a molded article for water purification use in which activated carbon fibers are used and which sustainably exhibits high water purification performance and little pressure loss. The present invention also addresses the problem of providing a molded article which rarely loses the shape thereof in spite of the fact that activated carbon fibers are used and which exhibits excellent effects when used for water purification purposes. The molded article is produced by blending activated carbon with the fibrous binder in such a manner that the amount of the fibrous binder becomes 0.3 to 20 parts by weight relative to 100 parts by weight of the activated carbon. The activated carbon contains activated carbon fibers in an amount of 5 parts by weight or more. Activated carbon fibers having an (average fiber length)/(average fiber diameter) ratio of 5 to 40 are used.
