Abstract:
A molded sound insulation material for an automobile dashboard adapted to be mounted on a dashboard panel separating an engine compartment from a passenger compartment. This molded sound insulation material comprises a sound screening material (2) and a sound absorbing material (1), and a harness case (3) having one or more terminals (4) on the engine compartment side and passenger compartment side respectively is embedded in the sound absorbing material (1) at the same time when the sound insulation material is produced, whereby noises in the engine compartment are prevented from passing through a gap between a through hole formed in the dashboard panel and a wiring harness and from penetrating into the passenger compartment.
