This monitoring apparatus (100) comprises: a timetable acquisition unit (102) which acquires an estimated arrival time of a public transportation means at a station for said public transportation means; and a control unit (104) which, using the acquired estimated arrival time, controls a camera installed at the station and/or the processing frequency of a first image generated by said camera.
