Abstract:
Provided is a monitoring device, comprising: a fixed area setting unit (37) which, on the basis of a video which is photographed of a display shelf in a storefront, sets a region of a portion of the display shelf which is a monitoring subject to a fixed area; a shelf detecting unit (31) which carries out a detection of the display shelf by determining the similarity between an image of the fixed area which is set by the fixed area setting unit and an image of the same location as the fixed area within the video which is photographed of the storefront; and an alert notification unit (34) which, if there is a lack of similarity from the determination, notifies a user that the display shelf which is the monitoring object has not been detected.
