Abstract:
The invention relates to monitoring and predicting the operation of a pump (30) arranged in a tank (3) for transporting a liquid product on board a vessel (1), the pump (30) comprising a pump head (31) arranged in the tank (3). A risk parameter for the risk of unpriming the pump (30) is estimated at least according to a required net positive suction head of the pump (30), the current fill level of the tank and a current movement state, which state is a current sea state and/or a current movement state of the vessel, and an indication is provided to a user according to the unpriming risk parameter. The invention is particularly applicable to vessels for transporting a cold liquid product, and more particularly to LNG transport vessels that use boil-off gas for propulsion.
