Abstract:
Disclosed is an antibody which does not recognize the full length of OPN but recognizes only the N-half of OPN. Also disclosed is a use application of the antibody. Specifically disclosed is a monoclonal antibody which recognizes a protein or polypeptide having an amino acid sequence: YGLR (SEQ ID NO:1) at the C-terminus but does not substantially recognize a protein or polypeptide having an amino acid sequence: YGLR at any region other than the C-terminus. Further disclosed are a method for the determination of the N-half of OPN, a method for the diagnosis of a disease associated with the N-half of OPN, a method for the determination of the severity of the disease, and a therapeutic method for the disease, each utilizing the antibody.
