Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a motive power transmission device which has a relatively simple structure and which can operate a bicycle or the like with a light force. This motive power transmission device includes at least one first gear (10A, 10B), and one roller chain (20) that engages with the first gear. The first gear (10A, 10B) has at least two magnetic teeth (11) which each have a magnetic surface on a front surface and/or a rear surface thereof. The roller chain (20) has at least one cylindrical body (21), which is positioned between a magnetic surface (11A) of one magnetic tooth (11) and a magnetic surface (11A) of an adjacent magnetic tooth (11) when the roller chain is engaged with the first gear (10A, 10B), and which has a magnetic surface that generates a repulsive force between the magnetic surface (11A) of the one magnetic tooth (11) and the magnetic surface (11A) of the adjacent magnetic tooth (11). Each magnetic tooth (11) is formed by providing a tooth, which is not yet magnetized, with a magnetic member (30) comprising a magnetic cap-shaped member.
