A motor (2) is provided with: a stator (8) that includes a ring-shaped stator core (20) and a plurality of teeth (22) that project radially inward from an inner peripheral surface of the stator core (20); a coil (24) wound around the teeth (22); a shaft (31) that rotates around the axis of rotation on the radially inner side of the stator core (20); a rotor core (32) that is secured to the shaft (31) and has the axis of rotation as a radial center; magnets (33) which are disposed on an outer peripheral surface (32b) of the rotor core (32) and the radial thickness of which at end sections (33s) on both sides in the circumferential direction around the axis of rotation is less than the radial thickness in an intermediate section in the circumferential direction; and salient poles (35) that are formed between magnets (33) that are adjacent in the circumferential direction of the outer peripheral surface (32b) of the rotor core (32) so as to protrude further radially outward than the end sections (33s) of the magnets (33) in the circumferential direction, the width dimensions of the salient poles (35) in the radial direction being set to an electrical angle of 40° or less.
