Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to obtain a motor control device for controlling a motor having a plurality of phases and for, when an open-state failure occurs at a target phase, quickly and accurately detecting at which of the phases the open-state failure has occurred, and also to obtain an electric power steering device using the motor control device. It is determined that an open-state failure has occurred at a target x-phase, when the power supply voltage (Vb) is a predetermined voltage (Vthr) or more, the motor rotational speed (ω) is a predetermined speed (ωthr) or less, the voltage instruction (Vx*) of the target x-phase is not near zero, the current (Ix) of the target x-phase is a predetermined current (Iu_thr) or less, and a state in which the control error is a predetermined error or more is detected for a predetermined time or more.
