Abstract:
This motor control device is provided with a calculation means, a determination means, and a selection means. The calculation means calculates a zero vector current predicted to flow through a three-phase alternating-current motor when an inverter is activated in a first mode in which a voltage is not applied to the motor. The determination means determines whether the difference between a command current and the zero vector current is within an allowed range in an αβ static coordinate system defined by an α axis and a β axis orthogonal to each other, with the rotational axis of a rotor of the motor as the origin. The selection means sets a switching mode of the inverter to the first mode when the difference is within the allowed range, and sets the switching moved of the inverter to a second mode when the difference is outside the allowed range. The second mode corresponds to the nonzero current vector that is closest to the command current from among six nonzero current vectors that are established in fixed directions in relation to the zero vector current in the αβ static coordinate system.
