Abstract:
The disclosed motor cooling device facilitates heat transfer between a coil end and a coil end cover, thereby maintaining good motor cooling performance, even when an oil flow volume is low. Said motor cooling device is provided with: a coil end cover (15) that covers a coil end (12) of a stator (11) and is configured such that oil flows around the coil end (12), removing heat from the stator (11); a channel (16) formed between the outer surface of the coil end (12) and the inner surface of the coil end cover (15); and a flow-velocity adjustment means (17) that changes the cross-sectional area of the channel (16) by moving the coil end cover (15) towards or away from the coil end (12). The flow-velocity adjustment means (17) increases the cross-sectional area of the channel (16) when the amount of oil supplied to the channel (16) is relatively large and decreases the cross-sectional area of the channel (16) when the amount of oil supplied to the channel (16) is relatively small.
