Abstract:
This motor drive device is provided with an inverter for supplying an AC power to an electric motor and a current detection means for detecting the DC bus current of the inverter. An abnormality diagnosis unit of the motor drive device calculates a q-axis current upper limit estimated value and a q-axis current lower limit estimated value on the basis of a diagnosis q-axis voltage command value obtained by performing absolute value processing on a q-axis voltage command value. The abnormality diagnosis unit also calculates a diagnosis q-axis current detection value on the basis of a q-axis current detection value and the sign information of the q-axis voltage command value, said q-axis current detection value being calculated on the basis of the output of the current detection means. The abnormality diagnosis unit then uses the current detection means to determine the presence or absence of an abnormality on the basis of the time during which the diagnosis q-axis current detection value has deviated from a normal range specified between the q-axis current upper limit estimated value and the q-axis current lower limit estimated value.
