Abstract:
This invention enables a shell type milling cutter (4) to be mounted firmly on a cutter arbor (3) without any eccentricity, and, moreover, the milling cutter mounting and removing operations to be carried out easily and speedily. Since the repairing of a tapering member (1) can be done easily, the duration of service of the same member is improved greatly. Moreover, the cutting accuracy and efficiency of the milling cutter increase. The mount according to the present invention is formed as follows. The tapering cylindrical member (1) used when the shell type milling cutter (4) having a tapering mounting bore (4a) is mounted on a mount shaft (3a) of the cutter arbor (3) is provided with a projecting circumferential portion (1a) on a thicker-side end part thereof, and a plurality of slots (1b) in the outer circumferential surface thereof. A screw member (2) for use in press fitting the tapering member (1) is provided in its head portion (2b) with a groove (2c) in which the projecting circumferential portion (1a) is to be fitted, and in the end surface of the same head portion (2b) with a hexagonal bore (2d).
