Abstract:
The present invention obtains a mouthpiece for a brass instrument, with which it is possible to easily express a "flow of breath" (sound and speed) just as a person (player) that blows the mouthpiece intended. A mouthpiece 10 according to the present embodiment forms a helical groove Ti (a first helical groove Ta, a second helical groove Tb, a third helical groove Tc, a fourth helical groove Td, a fifth helical groove Te) in a section (a helical groove formation section 22) ranging from a throat part 19 to a bottom surface (called a cup inner surface bottom surface part 15) of a cup inner surface 12. Consequently, breath can pass helically, thereby making it possible to express sound and breath by a "flow of breath" (sound and speed) just as a person (player) that blows the mouthpiece intended.
