Abstract:
A movement converting mechanism (10) is provided with the following: a piezoelectric element (3); a first movement converting unit (1) that converts the expansion movement of the piezoelectric element (3) into movement which causes displacement in a direction different than the expansion direction; and a second movement converting unit (2) that converts the movement brought about by the first movement converting unit (1) into movement which causes displacement in the same direction as the expansion direction. Further, the first movement converting unit (1) and the second movement converting unit (2) are both adjacent to the piezoelectric element (3) in a plane (S1) that is perpendicular to the expansion direction and that includes a cross section of the piezoelectric element (3).
