Abstract:
This multi-directional input device comprises an operating member, a first linked member which pivots about a first pivot axis in conjunction with a tilting operation of the operating member, a second linked member which pivots about a second pivot axis in conjunction with the tilting operation of the operating member, a first slider which moves in a first horizontal direction in accordance with pivoting of the first linked member, a second slider which moves in a second horizontal direction in accordance with pivoting of the second linked member, a first generating member held by the first slider, a second generating member held by the second slider, a first detecting unit which detects an amount of movement of the first generating member by detecting a detected medium emitted by the first generating member, and a second detecting unit which detects an amount of movement of the second generating member by detecting a detected medium emitted by the second generating member, wherein, in a plan view, any one of the first generating member and the second generating member is disposed in a position that is spaced further apart from the other generating member than a pivot axis about which the generating unit pivots when moving.
