Abstract:
In a multi-display device, power consumption is reduced while preventing a reduction in the quality of appearance of the multi-screen as a whole. A multi-display device (1) is provided with a plurality of liquid crystal display devices (2) arranged so as to constitute a multi-screen and a drive control section (22) that controls the liquid crystal display devices (2). The liquid crystal display devices (2) have liquid crystal panels (11) in which a plurality of pixels are arranged in a matrix form and backlights (12). The drive control section (22) is constituted such that, in the liquid crystal display devices (2) that have character and graphic display areas that at least display one of characters and graphics among the plurality of liquid crystal display devices (2), either one or both of brightness for the backlights (12) and drive frequency for the liquid crystal panels (11) is reduced.
