Abstract:
The present invention is a multi flute ball end mill comprising a shank portion that rotates about an axis of rotation, a cutting edge portion, three or more ball blades formed on the cutting edge portion, gashes formed between the ball blades, outer peripheral edges continuous with the shank portion side end of the ball blade, and edge grooves formed between the outer peripheral edges and continuous with the gashes, wherein the degree of curvature of the ball blades is 35-55%, and the gash comprises four faces: a ball blade rake face, a gash wall, a first gash face, and a second gash face. The second gash face is formed to enter into a second face of the ball blade as the second gash face approaches the center of rotation.
