Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to provide a multi split air conditioner that can reliably eliminate the situation of repeated oil return control failure even in high outdoor temperatures for which a protective function operates. The present invention is a multi split air conditioner (1) in which a plurality of indoor units (3A, 3B) are connected in parallel to one outdoor unit (2) and which comprises an oil return control unit (40) to perform oil return operations when oil return conditions are met by controlling the opening of an expansion valve (31) and the speed of a compressor (10) in a cooling cycle, wherein the oil return control unit (40) comprises a load reducing means (42, 42A) for performing the oil return operation after reducing the load by turning off the thermostat of a portion of the indoor units (3A, 3B) for which the thermostat is on when the compressor (10) is operating at a speed lower than the required oil return speed during oil return operation.
