Abstract:
Systems and methods for multi-step vehicle entry authorization utilizing biometric data are disclosed. A proximity/contact sensor (24) attached to a vehicle (10) receives a device ID from a wearable device (50; 51) of a user. A biometric sensor (20; 58) receives biometric data of the user. A control module (26) accesses a user database (32) storing authorized user information and determines whether the user is authorized for the vehicle (10) based on the device ID, the biometric data, and the user database (32). The control module (26) unlocks the vehicle (10) in response to a determination that the user is authorized for the vehicle (10).
