Abstract:
The present invention provides: a multibranched polymer production method which enables polymerization at a high rate of polymerization, efficiently by controlling the molecular weight and molecular weight distribution; a multibranched polymer; and polymer particles. The multibranched polymer production method according to the present invention involves performing living radical polymerization of a multibranch-forming monomer having a second polymerization-initiating group at the α-poisition of a vinyl linkage and a radical polymerization monomer not having a polymerization-initiating group at the α-poisition of a vinyl linkage, in the presence of an aqueous dispersion medium and a hydrophilic chain transfer agent having a first polymerization-initiating group.
