Abstract:
The present invention provides a multifunctional ruler comprising: a timer unit for calculating time information and/or a sound unit for outputting auditory information and/or a display unit for displaying visual information and/or a text recognition unit for recognising text-based information; a light-emitting unit for emitting light; a control unit which has a memory for storing the auditory, visual and/or text-based information, an interface device for user-directed input and an arithmetic logic device, and which controls whether the light-emitting unit is ON or OFF in accordance with the user's directions, and displays the time information by means of the display unit, and/or outputs the auditory information of the memory by means of the sound unit, and/or displays the visual information of the memory by means of the display unit, and/or outputs the text-based information of the memory as auditory information through the sound unit or else displays the text-based information of the memory device as visual information through the display unit; and a body which has graduated markings along one straight edge and which incorporates the timer unit and/or the sound unit and/or the light-emitting unit and/or the display unit and/or the text recognition unit as well as the light-emitting device and the control unit. As a result, the multifunctional ruler according to the present invention can be effectively employed in various different forms of work.
