The present invention provides: a multilayer sheet material which exhibits high flexibility in the thickness direction, while having high productivity; and a method for producing this multilayer sheet material. This multilayer sheet material is provided with a resin sheet material, a foam layer that is superposed on the resin sheet material, and a skin layer that is superposed so as to be adjacent to the foam layer; the skin layer and the foam layer comprise a base material resin that contains a thermoplastic resin; the foam layer comprises an internal space that is formed between the resin sheet material and the skin layer, and a plurality of column parts that extend from the skin layer to the resin sheet material in the thickness direction; and the area ratio of the cross-sections of the column parts in a cross-section of the foam layer, the cross-section being perpendicular to the thickness direction, is 10% to 60%.
